Question

Can there be any temperature which is lower than absolute zero temperature?

Solution

At constant pressure and at a temperature of -2730C, the volume of a gas becomes zero. Below this temperature the volume of the gas becomes negative, which is absurd. Thus -2730C is the lowest possible temperature and is called absolute zero. In fact, in practice, absolute zero can never be reached but can be approached very closely.
