Question
If a light bulb is connected to a dc supply, the current at first decreases and then becomes constant. Why?
Solution
At the initial stage, the current heats up the filament increases and the current decreases. After some time the filament attains a constant temperature and so its resistance does not change any further and therefore, current becomes steady.
