Chapter: Current Electricity
Question
How does the heat produced in a conductor due to passage of current depend on the current strength?
Solution
If H amount of heat is produced in a conductor of resistance R, when a steady current / is passed through it for time t, then H is directly proportional to the square of current (H proportional I2), when R & t are kept constant.
