Solution
Most of the fossil fuels like coal and petroleum or petroleum products contain carbon and traces of sulphur and nitrogen. Thus, burning of fossil fuels release acidic oxides of carbon, sulphur and nitrogen. These lead to acid rain which affects the water and soil resources.
